Changes to the Website:
We apologise for the poor performance of the website for the past month when the site suffered from serious technical problems, and we apologise for the need to send out an additional newsletter with a change of access details to your exclusive section. This was due in part to our decision to move over to a Windows based server at our ISP. We soon discovered many problems with our new settings and returned to a LINUX based server that has since been stable and allows us to add the features that we are looking for.
We have a mammoth new DragonTails cartoon added to the site exclusively for subscribers. This, along with a short cartoon for all, will be the last cartoon to be added for a while, but we think that we saved the best for last and hope that you enjoy it.
In addition, within the subscribers section we have added a new feature. After talking to The Tudor Mint, we have been given permission to display versions of The Methtintdour Times, the club newsletter, on the website. At the moment we have issues 1, 2 and 3 available for viewing, with more to come shortly. As we did not want to infringe on copyright, the magazines cannot be downloaded, instead only viewable online using our Flash based “Flipviewer” technology.
Your username and password have returned to their previous settings.
Have you seen the new DragonsCavern blog? We have moved our guestbook and the news sections into this, as it allow us to add news much more quickly. The comments facility below each piece of information allows visitors to add their own views about it. We have five “areas”, or categories, within the blog;
- Technical Status; this section gives the latest technical status of the main DragonsCavern site (useful after the problems we suffered from at the start of January!)
- News; the latest additions to the main website are mentioned here, as well as general news related to the world of Myth and Magic
- Guestbook and Voting; from here you can leave us a message, or participate in the monthly vote
- Images; here you can find information about new studies, rare studies that collectors are looking for information about, as well as general comments on the new releases.
- Thoughts; this is the area where we post general comments, like our view on the eBay email frauds.
Remember that ALL postings are comment enabled allowing you to add to any discussion or item of news.
Voting:
Last month we asked, "Should the Tudor Mint release more painted studies." The results are;
Yes 43.68%
No 56.32%
For February, we are asking:
“Is the new look for the year piece with an oval plinth an improvement?”
Take part in the vote by using the buttons on the main page, or in the contact or vote sections. Results will be announced in the March Newsletter.
