Tudor Mint New Additions:

To celebrate 15 years of the Myth and Magic Collectors Club, the Tudor Mint are releasing a special commemorative study entitle Xannov. Like the special studies Vannus and Xannus before it, it is limited to members of the Myth and Magic Collectors Club only, and will be available later in the year. These are the only details that we have at the moment, although we hope to bring you images and more details later in the year.

Changes to the Website:

We are busy adding more of the past issues of the Methtintdour Times to the website in the subscribers area. At the moment we have the first 5 magazines available to view online, and more will be added over the coming weeks and months. You may have also noticed a new navigation system to guide you around the website. We have been busy developing this over the past month and would appreciate any views you may have on how it looks and works. Do you like the fade in effect? (*only in IE) The colours? Are there any sections that we should add to the menu list? Please contact us with your thoughts.

To access the subscribers section, use your username and password.

Voting:

Last month we asked, "Is the new look plinth for the year study an improvement"
The results are; Yes 85.7%No   14.3% For March, we are asking: The Enchanted Window study (Ref 3652) is sized in between a medium and large study, and is also priced in between both sizes too. Should there be more "midi" sized and priced studies made available?

Take part in the vote by using the buttons on the main page, or in the contact or vote sections. Results will be announced in the April Newsletter.

News from H Samuel

Well, after a long wait, we have finally been able to speak to someone from H Samuel regarding the availability of the commission studies produced for them. We asked them about the mixed messages that collectors have been given from various stores around the country when it comes to ordering a piece, and we told the following; "The policy for H Samuel is that any store can order in any piece from the main collection, or from our exclusive studies, for local collection."After trying to order some of the treasure seeker trilogy pieces in a local store without success, we wanted to be sure about this and so asked in particular whether special pieces, such as the trilogy pieces, could also be ordered. After a lengthy hold, during which we were treated to some fascinating (!!) tips about how to care for your diamond ring and our contact went to confirm our enquiry, we were finally told "Yes, all special pieces can be ordered from all stores."

So, there we have it. All H Samuel stores should be able to get you any piece from the main collection as well as from their exclusive commission studies.

News from Argos

We have also been speaking to Argos following the release of their new Spring / Summer catalogue and the lack of any Myth and Magic items within it. We asked whether pieces that were previously available could still be ordered, but this is not possible as the stores return all items not in the current catalogue back to the distribution centres.

Then we asked whether there would be more Myth and Magic added to the Autumn / Winter catalogue later in the year. Unfortunately, they were unable to tell us whether there would be.

This means that the Argos studies 6000 through to 6010 are no longer on sale, and 6011 (The Enchanted Unicorn) seems to have disappeared from existence.

Requests:

If you have a prototype study, or a rare version of any please send a photo for inclusion on the prototype/rare studies pages. Use the submit form on the contact page of the website. In addition to this, the "Images Required" page of the website lists the studies that we are looking for images for. If you are able to help with those, please contact us.

That's all for this month. If you have any news, websites, announcements or comments that you would like to see in the next newsletter, or  if  you are a trader / collector who would like to be featured in an article in a future newsletter, please contact the webmanager.

Sincerely,
Webmanager
