Tudor Mint News:
===========
Xystos have left a message within the forum for club members who are still waiting for their magazine to arrive. They say;
We have received a couple of magazines back from Royal Mail marked "Not known at this address".
If any members out there are still waiting for theirs please either contact the club on 0191 499 1571 or PM me or email me at craigallen(AT)xystos.co.uk with your details and we'll make sure that you receive one.
They have also been busy answering questions left in the "Ask Xystos" area of the forum - many of them to do with this years Extravaganza. As this part of the forum is open to public viewing you can see the questions asked, and Xystos' replies.
One interesting comment from Xystos regarding the Extravaganza is "...understand that August is not the ideal time to hold the Extravaganza due to holidays. We are planning to move the event back to April/ May for 2009 and have taken on board all feedback to improve the event in future."
DragonsCavern News:
==============
Firstly an apology for the late arrival of this newsletter. We've been so busy with (real) work over the past week that we simply didn't have any spare time at all to write and send the newsletter out.
We've seen a rise in users registering accounts for the forum (it might have something to do with the article that was featured in the latest issue of the club magazine - The Methtintdour Times), but at the same time we've noticed an increase in failed attempts to login. The reason for this is simple - when you register for the forum, we send you a message to the email address you listed to check that you have actually asked to join the forum, and that it isn't an attempt from someone to spam us. If the email address you've given us is not a real address (or is one you don't check often), you can't reply to our message, and that means that we won't activate your account.
So, please check your emails once you've registered with us - and add forum(AT)dragonscavern(DOT)co(DOT)uk to your friendly list to avoid messages falling into your spam folder.
Our :MyChart service is growing too. User numbers grew dramatically over the past month. As a result of this, the database is processing much more data simultaneously, and you may experience a few moments of lag as requests are answered. We wish we could speed it up, but are uable to tweak it.
Last month we mentioned that a collector is looking to create a list of mould variations. We understand that list is almost ready, and once we receive it we will be adding to the website - along with the facility for collectors to comment on the studies mentioned within it, allowing it to be reguarly updated and improved.
Just a reminder to our users. To access the subscribers section of the DragonsCavern website, use your username and password.
Voting:
=====
Last time on DragonsCavern.co.uk we asked you; Would you like to see more "extra large" studies?
The results are;
Yes - 80.00%
No - 10.00%
No preference - 10.00%
For July we are asking;
Do you want to see a "collectors club" section on the TM website?
Take part in the vote using the buttons on the main page, or in the contact or vote sections. Results will be announced in the August newsletter.
Requests:
=======
If you have a prototype study, or a rare version of any item please send it to us for inclusion on the prototypes/rare pages. Use the submit
form on the contact page of the website. In addition to this, the 'wanted' page of the website lists studies that we are looking for images for. If you are able to help with those, please contact us.
That's all for this month. If you have any news, websites, announcements or comments that you would like to see in the next newsletter, or if you are a trader / collector who would like to be featured in an article in a future newsletter, please contact the webmanager.
Sincerely ,
Webmanager
