Newsletter No.40 September 2007

Welcome to the September newsletter from the DragonsCavern website.

This month we have news on;

Tudor Mint News,
Other News,
DragonsCavern News,
Vote results and a new vote,
Requests.

Tudor Mint News:
===========
The new Tudor Mint website has launched - as we showed you early with an advance screenshot in the blog - and contains both Myth and Magic and Land of the Dragon ranges. No other previous TM ranges are listed, so we must presume that Magic Moments, Crystal Mementos and other recent ranges have been dropped. The official TM website also allows you to purchase studies directly, however these are at full retail price. We would recommend using a retailer that offers them for sale at below the RRP.
Recent news from their website indicates that the new studies will be added shortly.

Other News:
========
To help with future improvements to DragonsCavern, we are conducting a survey to understand more about our visitors. If you are able to spare about 5 minutes, please complete the form on the website and submit it to us. You can view the survey at http://www.dragonscavern.co.uk/survey.htm

There is no other news to mention at the moment, other than the new additions to the collection should be arriving later this month. Many websites are already displaying these studies for sale, but check first - we did with one retailer and discovered that they are taking orders but have no stock.

DragonsCavern News:
==============

In the subscribers section we have added the last of the club magazines - issues 37 and 38 - that we are able to digitize. Future editions will appear 18 months after they were sent out to the collectors club. Therefore, when issue 45 is released, we'll add issue 39 to the website.
Also, Gereog's Diary - A Road Well Travelled - is reaching a conclusion. He's currently amassing an army, ready to fight the renegade wizard and his army of Goblins in the Bay of Arboria. There are frequent parchments written with the latest developments in the Land of Methtintdour. To view the club magazines or Gereog's Diary, click on the subscribers area and use your username and password.

September is a busy month for DragonsCavern. We're in the middle of a house move, and that means packing away all the pieces on display in the study. It's a long job, but one that is not being left to the removal company! As a result of the move, our access to the internet may be limited until everything is sorted. Please bear with us if we do not answer emails or respond to messages in the forum quickly.

We also have a favour to ask collectors. Have you noticed that on some of our pages, we are missing the data about the designer of a study. If you have one of those studies, we would be grateful if you could look underneath it, and email us with the details of the designer.

Also - if you have any of the Tudor Mint Chess sets, do you have the poster that explains the significance of each piece in the set? We're looking to add the "story" of each chess set to the website.

Thank you in advance!

Voting:
=====
Last month on DragonsCavern.co.uk we were asking; How do want the Collectors Club to keep in touch with you? The results are:

Paper magazine 62.50%
Electronic magazine 31.25%
Via the official website 06.25%

For September we are asking;

How do you obtain catalogue commission studies?

Take part in the vote using the buttons on the main page, or in the contact or vote section. Results will be announced in the October newsletter.

Requests:
=======
If you have a prototype study, or a rare version of any item please send it to us for inclusion on the prototypes/rare pages. Use the submit form on the contact page of the website. In addition to this, the 'wanted' page of the website lists studies that we are looking for images for. If you are able to help with those, please contact us.

That's all for this month. If you have any news, websites, announcements or comments that you would like to see in the next newsletter, or if you are a trader / collector who would like to be featured in an article in a future newsletter, please contact the webmanager.

Sincerely ,
Webmanager
